What do you always have in the booth?

“A 32 oz. mason jar of water with a metal straw, constantly refilled.”

How did you come to performing audiobooks?

“Always a reader (I first read The Hobbit as an 8-year-old and have been hooked since), I became a Dungeon Master for Dungeons & Dragons games in my childhood, studied broadcast and print journalism in college, became an English teacher for 17 years, taught improv and theater as well, got a master’s degree in children’s literature, and then married all of these various and sundry pursuits by becoming an audiobook narrator.”

Anything else you’d like a listener to know?

“Two Truths and a Lie: 1) I won Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me and have Carl Kasell’s voice on my voicemail. 2) I once scored against a national MVP, the Callahan Winner, in an Ultimate Frisbee game. 3) I led my team to win the championship of a board game league.”
