How did you come to performing audiobooks?

A major part of a professional acting training in London is your voice and also being able to perform for audio specifically. With that foundation I moved into British theatre as an actor and singer and also into BBC radio plays.

In Los Angeles, I was in the play “Trainspotting” and was recommended to Harper Audio. Bizarrely, at that same play, Scott Brick saw me on stage and introduced me to Penguin Random House. Suddenly, within the space of a blink I had a book series confirmed with both publishers. The joyful whirlwind of this lovely industry has continued ever since.

Anything else you’d like a listener to know?

Storytelling is as old as time and has always connected us to one another. As an actor, whether I’m working on stage, in a film or an audio production, it is always about finding the truth and sharing it with the audience.

For me, the artistry of acting in audiobooks is from the belief that you deserve to experience a story, written from the soul of an author, brought to life by the soul of an actor, from us to you. Storytelling is precious. You deserve more than AI.
