What do you always have in the booth?

My pronunciation lists on the walls around me along with my character notes, hot water, lozenges, and a little notebook for notes i jot along the way

How did you come to performing audiobooks?

Honestly it never occurred to me. I was volunteering doing theater with kids and Karen White, a great narrator, was also there. She suggested I go to the open auditions at what was then Books On Tape. The last thing I would have thought was that someone would want to listen to me in tehir car for 12 hours. But immediately I fell in love.

Anything else you’d like a listener to know?

For me, narrating audiobooks is an incredibly intimate art form. You’re right inside someone’s ear, telling them a story, as close as pillow talk. When someone tells me they have been listening to one of my books I feel as though we have had this shared experience.
