What do you always have in the booth?

Always water and lip balm. Various essential oils. A desk plant and a wall hanging quote from an Erin Hanson's poem, "What if I fall? Oh but my darling, What if you fly?"

How did you come to performing audiobooks?

At a point in my life when the future seemed open to any option, I was looking for something that truly fit me. When I learned that a large percentage of audiobook recording was done from home studios it was a lightbulb moment. I investigated all I could and never looked back! Learning not just the technical skills needed to run a home studio, but the acting abilities prerequisite to a successful narration has been so fun for me. Every challenge I mentally rub my hands together and think, "right, time to learn something new." Never stop growing!

Anything else you’d like a listener to know?

Narration is a fully immersive experience for me. I picture every character, every scene. I imagine tastes, smells and textures. I'm truly in awe of writers creating new worlds or bringing history back into focus. Transporting those written words back into the oral storytelling tradition is a uniquely human experience.
