What do you always have in the booth?

My 2015 MacBook Pro! I always make notes on the script and notes in my notes app. Yes, due for an upgrade but it's been a trusty and reliable friend all these years. Also, my water bottle with a squeeze of lemon and pinch of salt.

How did you come to performing audiobooks?

James Sie was in the middle of writing his debut novel ALL KINDS OF OTHER, and asked me to read a draft for feedback on a character he felt I had a lot in common with. He had already done tons of research so my notes were minimal. It was a dual protagonist novel, and James, being a talented actor to boot, was going to be voicing one of the leads. He shared my name with his team at Harper Collins, and I sent in my audition. I must have re-recorded the passage 20 times! Luckily they liked it, because James' book was the best first book I could have had!

Anything else you’d like a listener to know?

I found out I never knew how to pronounce the word "Iron". Well, let's just say not according to the standard American accent. There was this particular title which had the word "iron" in it over and over, maybe 50 times. I thought I did great, but when I got called in for the pick up session, guess what I had to re-record? 50 sentences which had the word Iron! It was a real, "you learn something new every day" kind of moment.
