What do you always have in the booth?

Tea, water, chapstick, and little pieces of art (a painting of two chickens, a small wooden cat, a needle-felted Chappell Roan…)

How did you come to performing audiobooks?

I was a theatre actor for many years before I got interested in audio storytelling. Projects that felt immersive like the podcast “Alice Isn’t Dead” and interactive pieces like “Undreamed Shores” from “one step at a time like this” got me excited about the medium. I realized that audiobooks felt intimate to me in the same way that theatre did – I love having an audience of one, talking right in your ear, sharing a story. So I started learning about and pursuing more audio projects, and here we are!

Anything else you’d like a listener to know?

I believe that imagination is a skill that can be developed like any other, and that it is difficult to build a better world if you cannot first imagine it. So one of my greatest hopes is that listening to stories helps us to grow our imagination muscles (and our empathy muscles!), because I think we all really need them in this moment.
