What do you always have in the booth?

Coffee for focus, water for vocal clarity and throat coat tea for later in the session when the cords are wearing out.

How did you come to performing audiobooks?

Longtime audiobook fan, I was performing a stage show in LA and my co-star (and carpool mate) was starting to narrate a lot of audiobooks. She connected me with a producer in town, he sent me an audition and booked me for my first book. We won an Audiofile Earphones award and things started rolling from there.

Anything else you’d like a listener to know?

I love narrating character-driven, emotionally resonant stories. See if you can hear the places I had to take a break and have a good cry before resuming the narration. The pauses and the nose-blowing, of course, have been edited out, but just know, if you’re crying while listening, I was crying while reading.
