How did you come to performing audiobooks?

I discovered audiobooks at age 12 when my dad lost his eyesight to diabetes. I was already an avid reader (and budding Stephen King fan), and the idea of listening to books fascinated me. I pursued a career in radio, but during COVID, when it looked like maybe my job with a streaming live festival and music company might be at risk, I decided to see if audiobook narration might be a good side hustle. Now it’s my main hustle and I love it.

Anything else you’d like a listener to know?

I met Stephen King right out of college, when he was speaking in my hometown. I used my radio job to get press credentials and went to his press conference. Afterwards, I decided to introduce myself to him. But when he looked at me, everything I ever thought I would want to say to him tried to come out of my mouth at the same time, and like a word traffic jam, nothing came out. We stared at each other until he said, “WHAT?” So far he has not written about me. #awkwardforlife
