Currently obsessed with Yerba Matte and always water. I also have no booth light so I record in the dark like a teen stealing time on the family desktop at midnight.
I was a passionate regional classical theater actor for a long time but I grew up being read to and listening to books on my little thrift store tape cassette player so a love of language and performing led me to the perfect career.
I think audiobooks are a layer we put on an already excellent art form (books). But at their best they are not merely vessels for story but an addition, something that shapes the worlds and brings them to life. I think in a time where consuming as many books as possible can be the next achievement on a long to do list, audiobooks seem like they facilitate that, but when you take the time with them they actually slow you down and let you sit in the story, immerse in the world, and for me they are the most perfect form of escapism and the most delightful gateway to imagination.
