What do you always have in the booth?

Teeccino Lion’s Mane – no sugar. Chap stick. Ginger Yoda Dojo phone stand from Sean Pratt. Twinkle lights. Tuffy and Taki are not allowed – too much purring. :(

How did you come to performing audiobooks?

I hated books! I was in special-ed reading classes for dyslexia during elementary school. I started reading aloud, and over the course of a long journey, I learned to not just overcome, but conquer my challenge. I taught, wrote, and loved acting. One day, my husband came home to a transformed master closet and equipment. He finally fnished building my lovely home studio! Can’t think of a better job for me…except for narrating my own novel ;)

Anything else you’d like a listener to know?

I have seven kids, an Australian Shepherd, two farm cats who somehow became indoor cats, and about nineteen extra friends who seem to find their way to my house for feijoada every week. So, finding a quiet place to narrate can be an adventure. I’ve also scuba-dived with pregnant bull sharks. No cage. That was considerably less relaxing. Somewhere between the chaos, the animals, the stories, and the occasional near-death experience, I’ve found that life is always more interesting than fiction.
