What do you always have in the booth?

I have a stuffed turtle my daughter crocheted for me, hydration, physical copies of a few books I’ve narrated, some inspirational quotes.

How did you come to performing audiobooks?

I studied theatre (acting/directing) in college, then studied clowning and physical comedy in northern Maine, but then was honestly not ready to go out for anything big, so I did some theatre on the side, including summer stock, some stage management, and a small theatre troupe I helped found in Chicago. I spent 15 years in early childhood education, got married, had some children, then decided in 2017 I was tired of not using my degree or pursuing my dream, but my family’s schedule meant that I couldn’t really do traditional theatre, so… voiceover and audiobooks entered the chat.

Anything else you’d like a listener to know?

I narrate under two different names, my own and my romance pseudonym. I do a lot of work with PANA (The Professional Audiobook Narrators Association,) including two years on the board of directors, and now I work as the communications manager. I am dedicated to the narrator community and feel so fortunate to be among such wonderful people.
