What do you always have in the booth?

The Ludo (from Labyrinth) plushy I needle-felted, the Coraline doll I made to look like my partner, and a Diet Dr Pepper.

How did you come to performing audiobooks?

I’ve listened to audiobooks for as long as I can remember and I have always loved performing. I figured if other people can make a living from reading aloud, why not me, too?

It also means my knack for mimicry and my curiosity about dialects get to be more than a fun party trick.

Anything else you’d like a listener to know?

I’m an eldest daughter, an October Libra, and my favorite holiday is Halloween. While I have never seen a ghost (and consider myself a skeptic), one did briefly haunt my room – until it cut holes in a favorite pair of shorts and I made it leave.

I escaped a high-control religion as a teen, which explains my love for stories that celebrate women’s self-sovereignty. My favorite characters are the determined and courageous heroines who challenge authority, and complex women with a dark side.

When not recording, I can be found coaching swim practices, drawing, listening to Florence + the Machine, or participating in grassroots feminist activism.
