Hi, I’m Erin Moon. I am a narrator and this is my narrator pick. So, I actually listened to this book quite a while ago, but it has so stuck with me. It is called The Scent Keeper by Erica Bauermeister, narrated by the incredible, always incredible Gabra Zackman. And not only am I recommending this book because Gabra does a gorgeous job of embodying this kind of mystic storyteller and still anchoring it in the third person limited, which is what it’s written in, and all the characters and everything, but there’s this like quality that she embodies that is so perfect for this book. But I’m also recommending it because Erica’s writing, it shifted my perspective of my world for quite a while. And I actually still have moments where my perspective and experience of scent in our world shifted after this book. It changed me. It actually changed that perspective of scent. It changed my relationship with it. And it’s got story in it and magical realism in it and that is just a gift. So definitely listen to this book not only for Gabra’s incredible performance but also for Erica’s gorgeous writing. Happy listening.
